Now this bike has been talked about quite a lot over the past months and has been doing extremely well ever since it was debuted and ridden by Robin Wallner at the EWS. This bike was a custom build specced out and built by my buddy who was kind enough to let me ride, rate & review the bike.

Back to basics! We're covering how to remove and replace the wheels on your mountain bike! You may need to remove wheels for storage, transport or maintenance, so here's how! Removing the wheels from your bike can seem tricky to start with, but once you practice a few times, you'll be able to do it in no time at all! This will allow you to change punctures rapidly, transport your bike with ease and most importantly, re-install that rear wheel quickly and correctly, without minutes of hassle from your friends!

Will Rachel Atherton take another race on her way to the staggering numbers set out many years ago by Anne-Caroline Chausson? Can Gwin break his worlds curse and beat one of the most competitive fields in Mens Downhill history to take his first World Champs gold? There’s lots of tech news this week, including a new Trek Remedy and two titanium hardtails with gearboxes! The real news this week is the new Scott Ransom enduro bike, which Neil is lucky enough to be racing at the final Enduro World Series race in Finale Ligure, Italy.

It's the 5th & last stage of the EWC Contermanskoof enduro race held here in Cape Town which took us down the revised DH track.

We know that Fat Bikes are fast. We've seen Blake Samson do incredible MTB tricks on a fat bike. They're comfortable, grippy, lightweight and can do pretty much anything any other mountain bike can do. But are they cool?

Disc brakes on mountain bikes have to go through a lot, so it can be pretty scary when they stop working. Here we talk you through the different reasons why, and when you might need to replace the brake pads. We also discuss the different and types of brake pads available, which are best for your style of riding, and how to replace them.

Finally we can reveal the bike that Neil will be racing at the Finale Ligure round of the Enduro World Series! Check out the all new Scott Ransom, it’s a 170mm Enduro bike which handles like a sports car uphill and down. It's the latest offering from Scott into the ever competitive trail bike market. The 2019 Scott Ransom is built for speed. Riding on the new Fox Nude TR Evol shock it offers supremely progressive descending, and can be tuned to exactly how you like it. The Scott Twinloc system comes as standard, enabling you to climb like you would on a lightweight XC bike, and has an updated control for the handlebar. Additionally it has a traction control setting which keeps the bike stiff but allows for sudden changes of terrain. The Ransom also accepts both 27.5 and 29” wheels with an easily exchanged flipchip on the linkage. Neil will probably use 29” wheels in Finale Ligure to challenge the likes of Sam Hill and Martin Maes for the crown at the last round of the EWS.

The Mercedes Benz UCI DH MTB World Cup reached its conclusion in La Bresse, France in less than ideal conditions. The rain that so affected qualifying the day before returned for finals, making the course super slick in places. This was no bad thing, with the track running faster than in qualifying as a result. For the Elite Women, the overall title still needed to be decided, while in the Elite Men's contest there was still the question of who would finish second to World Cup champion Amaury Pierron to settle, with up to five riders in contention for that spot. The weather started to clear up as the session went on, but this appeared to be at the disadvantage to the riders now coming down, as the muddy seemed to get a bit stickier. Times were slowing considerably, with huge amounts of time being lost by riders in the steep section in the middle of the course, where Maes had been incredibly fast.

Neil’s got the all new Scott Ransom enduro bike for his upcoming EWS challenge in Finale Ligure. We take a look at what could have been the best ever cross country mountain bike race ever, and there is some epic new electronic suspension tech from Fox.
