Cyclepath Fall Edit
The Cyclepath Kelowna DH crew goes for a shred in the fall on their exclusive trail. This trail has been worked on by all of the riders during the past year. Ben Reasbeck was the one who searched and found the perfect zone. We decided to go up and film the trail this fall in the beautiful fall colours that the Okanagan has to offer. The end product turned out pretty sweet and we hope you enjoy!
After breaking my leg this summer I invested in a new camera in hopes of being able to keep hanging with the riders and being able to do something for them. Cyclepath has been helping me out for the past 6 seasons so I thought I would help them out and film this edit. We spent about 4 days on the trail shooting in all different conditions, sun, clouds, rain and even snow on the last day. It was tough to even pull out the camera at times in those 4 days with the conditions and setting up and taking down the cable cam throughout multiple spots.
Many sections of trail were super fresh and made for the perfect amount of loam to be shredded. The video starts off with Ben Reasbeck who is originally from Ontario, along with Ryan Varchol from Peachland riding some high speed straights and technical steeps. They were absolutely pinned the whole time on their Devinci Wilson's.
Next comes the section with Mike Kirk and Owen Campbell. These two guys just ride for the fun of it and are true ambassadors for Cyclepath. Mike's camera skills helped with taking photos when he wasn't riding and Owen's craftsman skills helped with the chainsaw and cutting trail. In their section they were sliding over some flat corners and slippery rock rolls. These guys were probably the most fun to film with as they were laughing down the trail and having a lot of fun.
Last, but not least is the deadly brother combo that consists of Tom and Bas van Steenbergen, the most competitive brothers I've ever met. Usually at the bottom of the trail one of them is saying something about how they're faster or their line was better. This makes for extremely fast riding and the two are on each other's tails down the entire trail. The brothers were pinned, and really put their TR450's to the test.
The group meets up at the end for some last shots together on probably the steepest part of the trail. We uncovered a goldmine of a rock slab which has a 40 foot cliff off the edge of it, some more corners and chutes just to tie up the end of the edit. We wanted to show everyone who the riders that Cyclepath helps out are, whether they be top racers or just great ambassadors of the sport having a good time on the trail.
