SeaBee replied to the topic Re:GU/USN/WHASP/ECT - What do you use ? in the forums.
Don't mix the two... (32GI and Ride shots!)
The experiment I was talking about, was going to 32GI. If you plan to use that and then add high-GI, you MUST keep topping up on high-GI stuff or you'll catch a "drop" when the sugars are out and the low-GI drink don't give you anything to lift you again. Another high-GI drink will keep giving you sugars. So be carefull if you haven't used a combination to use it first-time in a race.
Those shots are very handy, though, been using them - but not that much!

I must admit, I just cannot see the fun in cycling 100km on tar among thousands of other roadies. Boring tar after tar km. I just enjoy MTBking too much at this stage.
Sorry SeaBee.

I used knee guards a few times when my confidence was down the drain after my crash, and yes, they are not very comfortable, especially not when climbing hills, but I got used to it, and although it's extra hot with knee guards wrapped around your legs, it does help for the confidence and give some protection down single track.
Another thing about the knee guards, if they do not fit properly around your leg, they tend to slip down and that is really irritating. Alternatively, get small enough ones you can fit into a small back pack and only put them one before you go down single track or down what ever terrain.
I'm not using knee guards any more.
