Well exams are finally over so I decided to go have some fun this morning... My ride started with a lil bit of Urban Rage through town... Dodging taxis is good 4 the technical skills...
Arrived at Cascades just as the day started heating up... had an awsum ride where i finaly managed to conquer all of those dreaded multigirl switchbacks! Also did some exploring and found a new loop that iv never ridden b4! Whoop whoop! Some of the trails were a little soft under the tread but thats prob just cos of the recent rain and ofcors Winter.
Hopefully the tracks with be cleared soon as they are quite full of leaves and twigs and now that its finally spring im sure il be riding a lot more often!
Had an awesome fast 27km ride this morning in the Illovo Farm area. After a bit of rain the past 2 days everything seems clean, the air is crisp and life is beautiful :)
Did a bit of exploring and as these exploring things go had to push up a very slatey and steep unrideable section. When you get to the top you feel you're on top of the world!! Nice thing about being on the top - its downhill all the way!!! Rewarded with a nice long downhill section which blended beautifully into the well-used motorbike trail - cranked up to the heaviest gear for the flatter sections and hit the nearly 1 km run down at breathtaking speed - wooohhooooooooooo!!!!! Well, could only manage the woohoooooo at the bottom because of the pace going down :) Had some extra energy this morning and the adrenaline is still pumping and the smile there for the rest of the day...
Tomorrow an easy-paced ride betwen 15 and 20kms when I take out the beginners. Expecting a "first-timer"13 year-old rider to join us so the pace will be very slow and I may cut the ride a bit depending on how he copes. Looking forward to Lynford next weekend :)
Entries won't close so early and we also take entries the day before and on the day. We want you there I promise.
The experiment I was talking about, was going to 32GI. If you plan to use that and then add high-GI, you MUST keep topping up on high-GI stuff or you'll catch a "drop" when the sugars are out and the low-GI drink don't give you anything to lift you again. Another high-GI drink will keep giving you sugars. So be carefull if you haven't used a combination to use it first-time in a race.
Those shots are very handy, though, been using them - but not that much!
