I plan on doing the Argus next year!

I must admit, I just cannot see the fun in cycling 100km on tar among thousands of other roadies. Boring tar after tar km. I just enjoy MTBking too much at this stage.

I can understand the "boring" idea - for a normal road race. But for Argus?! There's so much going on, so many people to talk rubbish to - it's a real fun day! I told the mrs it's so strange - it's the one race everybody knows about and ask you time - but it's the one race I really go out to enjoy! Don't give a rat about my time - and the last couple of years have been so windy, it would just have been depressing to worry about times! I have a ball - chat to people, joke back with the (huuuge!) crowd, enjoy the great views, it's just a super event!

And most people go with that attitude. You get the odd idiot that takes it too seriously - their loss!

the argus is one of the better ones on tar.Did our first 3 on our MTB's.Doing our 6th next year.The scenery is awesome - best way to see the Cape.We used to do the Amashova and the 94.7. but the interest has dwindled down to the argus only.Awesowe vibe, and the views are aweseowe and its an excuse to visit Cape Town every year.LOVE IT
