The Caveman MTB Expedition Race is a hardcore, physically demanding, unforgettable, self-supported mountain biking adventure over approximately 490km, the start and finish in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. Riders will experience prime mountain biking over some of the toughest, wildest, loneliest and unspoilt terrain on offer – rugged rocky coastlines, pristine white beaches, river crossing, forests, mountains, the harsh beauty of the Klein Karoo. Featuring components of hike-bike, cave visits, endless vista’s, big sky country, good food and heart warming rural back country hospitality.

The Caveman Concept
The Caveman is a self sufficient, non-stop expedition race. Entries are limited to sixty riders, with the start being staggered over four days with participants group into batches of fifteen riders. The first group departs 6:00am on Sunday, 22 April 2012.

Winners and Podium finishers will be adjudged entirely on who reaches Mossel Bay the quickest and then subsequently according to the total amount of time taken to complete the full distance.
