Well, today was definitely a highlight again.   Arrived at Virginia Farm arund 0745 and because the shed and cottage are booked out this weekend, had the privilege of using the homestead facilities.  This farm is my piece of heaven and has never failed to leave me enchanted with every visit.

Having attempted Stoney Hill chute the first time last week I had to go back to try and better the measely 3 switchbacks I managed.  Strategy - park big red and walk it down.  It paid off more than I could have imagined.  Managed all but the first tight turn and in a rush of adrenalin managed the rest which for me was the most technically challenging thing I have ever done.  The hills echoed with my delighted squeal as I zipped out the bottom, punshing the air like a champion - well - I was pretty darned proud of myself and on my level it was a helluva achievement.

The view into the Mgwahumbe nature reserve is breathtaking and I sat silent at the top for long minutes, taking in food for the soul, listening to the eerie silence and watching a eagle catch the thermals.

The single- track offers so much variety and fun and I'm happy to have confidently conquered all the tricky bits.  Today was a GOOD day to ride and everything went superbly.  Finished off with a post-ride, post-shower beer shandy enjoyed next to the pool and overlooking the awesome valley.  My seond home Cool
