I know I'm going on about this place but to be honest, its the closet to me, that offers downhill entertainment as well as freeride thrills.  To most this place doesn't look like much and doesn't seem to hold much, but for me, its like my second home.  I kinda grew up in that veld, riding my BMX there when I was still little, with my friends, b4 it was ever build up or even thought of as a DH/Freeride track.  Nestled nicely in the south of JHB, just off of the Xavier Rd off ramp, and only a 15min walk...

The start has finished, the end is near.  Burning, sweating, breathing, trapping like a mfr.  you see the end, no riders in sight, 3 burms, 2 jumps, 1 drop, you there, you win!!...

Your mind races, your heart beats, thump, thump, thump.  you ready, you steady, you hear a voice, GO!!  you pedal, you swerve, you jump, you pedal, BAKLANG!!!  Something snaps, you know no more.  the crowd oooooohhh's, you stand your ground, don't turn around, you know whats coming, instinct, twist, WHAAAMMM, you idiot, you knew, its coming.  Kiss the ground once more, its over, your bike is winning and running.........

And so to, are these the days of our lives as the sands of time run out for the bold and the beautiful.  the trail begins, the path ends, endurance strives for better perfection, torturing the body, the mind, the soul.  and even though this is a total construct of your psyche, you are mentally divergent as you find your self on planet P, hostile terrain envelopes you, your ride, your being.  you don't look back, don't speak thrice, the Candyman is coming for you, for your soul, for your ride.  tales from the crypt cross your mind, your body shivers,...

Cone rod dystrophy, what is that?  Well, a quite a severe eye condition that can either leave one virtually blind or almost blind.  No treatment is available, except for glasses.  It involves, esp in my case, yup, I have this condition, extremely short sighted, color blind and very light sensitive.  Its not the coolest things to have, and taking part in sports is very difficult, esp when it comes to competing against 'normal sighted' people. When I was growing up, I was told that I would never be able to live a normal life, like everyone else, no driving a car,...
