Jason thanks for the post Re: Durban screening of latest Sinamatella mtb movie

Ja, the whole story (IMHO) was just written to get attention and reaction. The whole way it was written just speaks of it - even blaming home invations by baboons on mtb'ers. He did miss out on blaming the shark attacks on us...
Onto better things - I am a well-behaved cyclist and I am taking my 6 y/o daughter to her first mtb "race" tomorrow! (She is super-stoked and cannot wait.) Single-speed, fixed fork and back-pedal little pink bike - that's the style! And I will continue to teach her to ride responsibly and considering others and the rules of the road/mountain. No, she loves riding over stuff and through splashes - she's a real mtb chick in the making, road riding is not even an option it seems!
Have an awesome time tomorrow with your daughter. I'm banned from all forms of exercise for a while, so will be at Scottburgh tomorrow to welcome in the Sani2C riders

I agree with you SeaBee - I found the reference to the pedal cyclists very offensive. I may prefer mountain biking, but I enjoy and respect all the disciplines.
Yes, there are some inconsiderate cyclist, as there are inconsiderate drivers. There are also rude and inconsiderate mountain bikers who can make things unpleasant for others out there (thankfully it does not impact on Joe Public).
However, this guy's derogatory and intolerant rantings made my blood boil too. He went WAY too far. What an idiot

Zee created a new topic Durban screening of latest Sinamatella mtb movie in the forum.Hey guys,
For all the Durban and surrounds fans of Sinamatella, you will have noticed that there is no scheduled screening in Dbn this time.
According to James Walsh, they lack sponsorship for a Durban screening, BUT per James: "We're hopefully organising a Strength in Numbers screening at Giba Gorge on Wednesday evening, 30th May. Just waiting for a couple of details to fall into place.
We just need to drum up some support - so please head over to www.facebook.com/Sinamatella.Productions and cast you vote.

chubbyBunny created a new topic New to the sport in the forum.Hi there.
I am looking to buy my first mountain bike in a couple of months. I have been doing allot of research and think I have narrowed it down to two possibilities. The Merida One Twenty xt-d and the Momsen Dual Link Six. I have no idea what the components differences are and stuff like that... If someone could please give some advise and other options.
Thanks.

Good news is that MiWay is resurfacing again next week. Mon 21st they are featuring the MTN Clarens event which took place on 5 May. Still a bugger for me as I no longer subscribe to the high cost of full DSTV. Have to sneak an early lunch break the following day and watch it on the work telly at 10:00 a.m. Cant wait to see the much spoken about Mabalingwe event - hoping that will be on soon.
Now just to convince SABC2 to bring Pedal Talk back before September
Ok - quoting myself here: Don't get too excited about MiWay Mtb being back: it could be short-lived. MiWay have given their sponsorship to cricket, so I think MiWay Mtb could be off the air for good (the only dedicated MTB offering on TV at the moment) unless another sponsor can be found. Sad!!!
If Supersport are going to have the monopoloy, then they should spread their cycling offering over more than just one channel and programme.
That email address again to pressure SABC2 into bringing back Pedal Talk on Sundays: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
